The Web makes life so much simpler, but accessing it from different locations using different browsers and different computers can cause some problems. I have some extensive lists of bookmarks on my home computer and a different set at work. To make my life easier, I decided to put together some resource pages that I can access from anywhere. I hope these lists will be as helpful to others as they are to me.

Digitization Resources

Digitization projects are popping up all over the library world. The following resources include articles and other documentation for developing and managing digitization projects, links to specific projects, information about Digital Libraries, training opportunities, eJournals, grant resources, and links to lists of additional resources.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's Graduate School of Library and Information Science will begin offering a Certificate of Advanced Study in Digital Libraries in fall 2005.

Metadata Resources

What is Metadata? It's data about data. As a cataloger, I've been working with metadata for years. I've been moving beyond Machine Readable Cataloging (MARC) and the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules into other areas of metadata in recent years. This guide includes General Resources, W3C Resources, Library of Congress Resources, Dublin Core, Encoded Archival Description, IMS Global Learning Consortium, and Other Metadata Schemas

Library Resource

While "bookmarks" or "favorites" lists are great for keeping track of frequently used web sites, they're not as useful when you're not on your own computer! I created this page so that I can always have access to some of the links I use most often.
